Every man needs to know
that there are rules for dating.
They’re common-sense rules
to live by when trying to make a
good impression with the lady
you’re spending time with.

Dress to impress. At
least on the first few dates until
you really get comfortable with
each other. Neutral colors,
smart casual. Take time on
your grooming. Get a haircut
if it’s been a while.

Try to be the best you
can be at work. No matter
what you do, women like to think that the man they are dating is a little ambitious and has a bright future ahead of him. Think through what direction you want your life to take. Is this job just a stepping stone to something else?

Grow up a little. ESPN isn’t the only channel on the TV set. Be interested in what’s going on in the world – politics, the daily news.

If you drink, don’t over do it. If you smoke, don’t smoke around her. It’s better for your health to quit altogether. Exercise regularly. Women like men who take care of themselves.

Use your best manners. Don’t cuss. Be a gentleman. Don’t look at other women when you’re with her. Pay attention to her when she’s talking.

Learn how to dance. And when the music starts, don’t just sit there.
